How do viral marketers advertise their services?

I don't think it works that way. I think clients are generally dumb and assume that any advertising company worth its salt knows how to do it and they just hire the company that they like. Then, the chosen company fucks it up. IE, no one, I don't think, advertises themselves as a strictly viral marketer. Instead, they pitch their clients on that as a delivery type or the client requests it.
