Vox in my socks. I'm pretty wary of social networking sites generally but Vox looks like something I might be able to live with (and it's come at a good time for me). Any other bunnies out there on Vox? Do folk like it, dislike it?
PS: I got an instant invite from here in case it's not common knowledge

Matt posted a link with a 1000 invites a couple of weeks ago so there are quite a few MeFis with accounts as well. I'm Mitheral there too but I haven't done squat with it yet.

It's more of a MyFlickrJournalTube type thing than Friendster- or Orkut-style social networking, I think. Certainly not unfun.

Is it exclusive some how? Every time i tripped onto a vox site it has a sign up link, not that i've even been online that much for a hile.

Well, i gave them my email for the hell of it and it said "as soon as a spot was available" whatever that's to mean.
the sloganeering on the sign up page would have dissuaded me outside this post.

yeah, that kind of appeals to me too. i've often talked myself out of posting things on a blog but this vox thing might be a better fit for me. maybe. certainly there's plenty of opportunity to blog stuff about music.

How do you add people as your neighbor?

I've just been hovering over the profile icon/photo and clicking add to neighborhood

I'm there as mullacc. I've been warming up to it slowly. My friend demanded that, rather than email him links and stuff, I communicate with him via by blog on Vox.

I think a lot of MeFites joined when mathowie put up the 1,000 invites. Loooking around any of our spots should let you connect the dots pretty well. I'm here but, like others, haven't done anything with it.

Naah - There's no buffering on the video which is pretty rubbish. Press pause - wait for the download bar to move to 3/4 full and press play again.

Okay... well, you twisted my arm. I'm not happy that I can't do any design changes, though, which is why I didn't sign up when typepad sent me an invitation months ago. I guess I should have, though, because of course now I can't get my user name. Anyway, I'm going to go add neighbors before I even make a post. Because I'm voxxy that way.

yes, that's what it is. I added vox.com to the "safe" urls, but it doesn't seem to care. Right now I'm turning off the firewall, going to someone's page to add them, turning firewall back. Wash, rinse, repeat. This is going to take a while.

Ha, I was just adding you as a neighbour, taz, when I got an e-mail saying you had added me. Good to know I'm awake at the same time as someone.

I keep signing up for these things in case I decide they're worthwhile and I want to use "my" user name. Also, I'm a hopeless joiner.

i did it just to get ethylene, because i'm not a joiner or a networker (metachat's as close as i get) but even right now i'm totally procrastinating and not attending to stuff i should be attending to--
now the point of it is to be more networky and interactive?
(i find the who "Vox is..." thing extremely annoying, as calling yourself the new hot thing seems offputtingly uncool)
