This post is a sigh of relief... I started the new job today. First thing I did? Check to see if I could access Metachat, Metafilter and gmail. I win on all three. Woot.

I can't access Metafilter, MetaChat or Gmail along with thousands of other "web forum" or "chat" sites. I can sort of see what's happening on Mefi and MeCha using Google Reader to access the RSS feeds (regular RSS readers use the proxy server). It's okay, but I can't post or read the threads.

It's all part of our new, improved web proxy. I guess the "productivity improvement" must be saving someone money.
