oh, i'm so going to sample that and use it in something...
hearing that little tantrum reminds me of the "good old days" when people would download napster after getting their new computers without realizing that the entire contents of their hard drive - including the silly little "mic-in-track" recordings they did with the musicmatch jukebox software that came with it - were up for grabs thanks to peer-to-peer file sharing.
I just IMed this to my son, who found it hilarious. He then used it to demonstrate how he's "not that bad" when he stays up till 2 AM to play Halo2 and then gets a little bit pissy when I tell him to go to bed. He also told me the game is Rainbow Six, which everyone else probably already knew anyway.
He's 16, sciurus. His summer job ended at the beginning of August, and since he doesn't have to get up early any more, he stays up late. Which in itself is fine, but I'm a reeeeaaaalllly light sleeper and he puts the headphone thing on and chats with his friends while he plays (and taunts opposing players, loudly), and he constantly wakes me up. He's in a clan with his RL friends from HS, apparently none of them have jobs either...must be nice!
He gets kind of pissed when I tell him to turn it off but he knows that playing Halo till 2 AM is ridiculous anyway, so he makes a couple of faces at me (he scowls and glares a lot) and mutters under his breath and turns the Xbox off.
Heh. My mom was in a similar situation with me ten years ago, except I wasn't loud. There was just one TV to use. She wanted to watch Entertainment Tonight, I wanted to play Final Fantasy 7...
Jeez, I'd have got seven bells knocked out of me if I'd tried even a hint of that attitude with my parents. Actually, they knocked the attitude out of me before it ever got started.
