What kind of dog are you? Inside all of us, is a breed of dog..→[More:]
Click on the link, and go to "Game" on the left to learn what kind of dog you are. I'm a Welsh Corgi. Pampered by royalty, how about that!?
Well. Despite my "small" build it came up with Malamute: Depsite its wolfish appearance, this breed is gentle, affectionate and loyal, with a long memory. Owners warn of a natural stubbornness that must be overcome by training. Good luck with that. Siberians are much more elegant anyway. Hey, when I re-ran the thing, it came up with Siberian. Go figure.
General Appearance
A hunting hound of striking color that traditionally brings big game to bay or tree, the Plott is intelligent, alert and confident. Noted for stamina, endurance, agility, determination and aggressiveness when hunting, the powerful, well muscled, yet streamlined Plott combines courage with athletic ability.
Temperament
Eager to please, loyal, intelligent, alert. Aggressive, bold, and fearless hunter. Disposition generally even, but varies among strains, with a distinction sometimes appearing between those bred for big game and those bred as coonhounds.
I'm a Saluki. "This elegant, if somewhat aloof breed is loyal, affectionate and trustworthy."
Apparently I'm an ancient Bedouin dog ("Unlike other dogs, salukis are not viewed as being "unclean" by the Bedouin"), and royal dog of Egypt ("so esteemed that his body was often mummified like the bodies of the Pharaohs themselves"), perhaps the oldest known breed of domesticated dog.
"They learn quickly but can get bored with repetition, so training sessions should be short and varied". Yes, yes, yes.
"They get along well with children, but must be respected when they want to be left alone and rest". That's a fact, Jack.
"Sensitive and intelligent, the Saluki should never be trained using force or hard-handed methods". For sure.
"They are usually quiet and don't bark unless there is a reason". Woof!
It says I am an Afghan Hound—Distinguished by my thick, fine, silky coat and my tail with a ring curl at the end, I acquired my unique features in the cold mountains of Afghanistan, where I was originally used to hunt wolves, foxes, and gazelles.
