psst.... what's for Photo Friday?
I say we should take our inspiration from this post.

Just a thought.

There was talk of bookshelves as the theme.

I say we should take our inspiration from this post.

I was going to jokingly say 'you first, Jon,' but then I realized that you wouldn't have any problem doing so.

This is not what they look like at present; I have more of both and I'm in a different apartment.

I have several bookshelves, but this is my favorite, because it's built-in, and that pleases me. The bookshelf next to it holds my clothes, which I suppose makes it a clotheshelf.

I'll try to get a shot of my regular bookcase tomorrow, but anyway... It's overfull and will accept no more books, so here's a picture of a chair in my bedroom where they've been going lately:

Personally, I've always thought that floors make good bookshelves. Unfortunately, I cannot keep too many books on the floor in my room, because if I did, people might trip over them and fall. Even worse, they might fall down the stairs and get seriously hurt. So I'm sort of forced to keep most of my books on real shelves. I haven't got a digital camera, though, so I cannot take (and have never taken) any pictures of them. Which is a pity, for I would really have loved to show off with my books :p

On preview: nice one, box.

A couple of pics that cover the big bookcase, and then one that covers the floor (aka the reality of where books end up):

You all read a lot more books than I. But I do have a formidable pile of unfinished newspapers.

Hmmmm. looks like we're dual-threading it... mine's here.

...then there's the bookshelves up north. The house I own came with 20 years of the New Yorker which is good to plow through in the wintertime.

Late, but here is my temporary bookshelf at my parents' house. These are just the books I packed in my bags and a few I bought since I got here--my bookshelf and the rest of my books are on a truck headed across the country. Hopefully, the truck will arrive soon and I'll move into my new apartment.

As an extra bonus, I've posted a scene found directly below the books. Shoes! These are all the shoes I managed to cram into the luggage I took on the plane. For some reason, I have more shoes than this packed up in the truck.

20 years of the New Yorker means that many of them have covers without labels. What a treasure. I once visited someone whose bathroom was wallpapered in New Yorker covers, and I plan to someday paper my library that way. Or in cartoons.
