Ask Mecha: What's going on with this wireless network? Hello, friends. All of a sudden, some domains aren't pulling up while others load just fine. It took 20 reloads just to pull up metachat.org. Why? I need my bunnies, boingboing, and blogs, and this is getting ree-deek-u-lus!
If you have some additional information, e.g. is this at home or elsewhere, isp, model of wifi router and OS can't be that difficult to solve. :)

with wifi and internet, the devil is always in the details.

Ah yes, home (router is a D-Link B/G, upstairs, in the kid's room of the landlady, long story), Charter, Win XP Pro and Home (2 different pooters). Thanks!

Simple answer - sounds as though one computer is pulling down the chunk of your bandwidth. Got any P2P applications running on the other PC?

If you have access to the D-Link router (usually found at 192.168.1.1 or .254) check the advanced settings and go through the internet access logs. That will tell you who is consuming all your internet love.

Thanks, funmonkey1. Can't even get into it without an eternally spinning firefox cirlce. Argh.
