Some guy just called, offering to pay me for writing dirty emails. I understand that adult sites need content, but having some dude with not-the-greatest phone manners calling up random women whose resumes he's found online and asking them if they're comfortable with adult content as one of the *first* questions might not be the way to go when attempting to find such content providers.

True, but he creeped me out from about the second sentence, before he even got to the adult content part of the thing. He sounded like a telemarketer at first, and then he started quizzing me about my work experience before even really saying why he was calling. Then he started talking about adult content and what my comfort level with it was, but by that point I was so confused and thrown off-center that I just wanted to get out of the conversation.

hell, earlier in the day of the last meetup, I was having a smoke on the stoop of the building next door to my bar and a kid with about 20 lip rings leaned in and asked if I could 'help him out with a little something.' It took a second until I realized he thought I was dealing. I told him I was just having a smoke and wasn't selling.

I get mistaken for something illegal a lot, it seems.

See, yeah, that's the vibe he was giving off, but I suspect that he was actually legit. So it's a bad vibe to be giving off.

Regardless of whether I'd be comfortable writing adult-content newsletters in theory, I'm certainly not comfortable doing it under the supervision of a guy who creeps me out, so it's rather a moot point.
