Dust-To-Digital is trying to tempt me. [More:]A year or so ago I purchased this exquisite boxed set* from them and have enjoyed it immensely. Sadly, Pips brought it in to play for her students as accomaniment to a book they were studying and the beautiful booklet that came with it disappeared**. I finally remembered to email them today to see if I can get hold of another copy of the booklet by itself, hopefully, I'll hear back soon. This holiday disc was great, too. Some of the upcoming stuff looks tempting as well. Dang.

*my penchant for getting sloppy drunk and listening to old gospel music in my undies is well known

**I hope one of the students didn't steal it. Stealing a book from a gospel record would have to put you on the express train to hell, I'd imagine.
You have old gospel music in your undies? Where do you buy them?

Thanks, jonmc! I collect holiday CDs and this one just jumped onto my purchase list!

I've been coveting the Goodbye, Babylon discs for a good long time, myself.

I got the Fonotone box earlier in the year, and it's great, including the early early recording Fahey made (and sang on!). It was supposed to come with a Fonotone bottle opener and there wasn't one in the box, but when I emailed Lance at D-t-D he sent me two (!) the next day. Awesome. I've now got everything they've put out and it is so worth it. The holiday CD is great, and I can't wait for the Bass Fiddle cd. I hope it's ready for this year so I can give it as gifts.

That makes me hopeful, omie. I emailed them at the adress on the 'contact us' page this morning but I haven't heard back yet. I'd be willing to pay for the book since it was so beautifully done.

I can't wait for some of their 'world music' stuff to come out, either, although I really wish they'd use a different genre name, since 'world music' conjures up all that 'easy listening with token ethnic instrumentation' crap that crosses my desk far too often.
