'Allo, 'allo, I weel say zees uhnly wurnce ... [More:]This morning the BBC had a report in its radio news bulletin about the ban on fois gras in Chicago's restaurants, complete with an interview with what must surely be a comedy French chef, complete with background accordion music. (8½ minutes into the 10-minute bulletin)

The link will open the stream in RealPlayer, but if you use RealAlternative and get the little pop-up, click Cancel, then click the link on the left-hand side that says 'Listen using stand-along RealPlayer' and it'll open in RealAlternative.
Le sigh...

I can't believe my city has voluntarily become such a laughingstock.

California banned its production here, but it can still be served. Or at least, it is still being served.

I would be upset at Chicago, except that I recently went to a restaurant that treated my family like shit, and they're about to have a "Sorry, Mother Goose" foie gras dinner (because they're in Evanston, so outside the city), and I really hope the whole thing crashes and burns and various goose-rights groups show up and make the entire evening a feather-filled disaster.

The end.

*ahem* Sir, you are adhering to stereotype alarmingly well. Please stop it. Or get a tv show.
