Is this the end? Or is there another page there I can see? *Hopes for another page*
Also, when I posted that Calvin & Hobbes strip, there was actually another strip I wanted to post, except I don't have it. (Can't find it). It's Peanuts of course.
Chuck and Patty are leaning against a tree. The convo goes a bit like this.
CB: Some days are better than others, right?
PP: I suppose.
CB: So there must be a day that's the best day ever.
PP: Yeah, sure.
CB: So, what if you've already had it?
Sorry to mess with your vibe, shane, but if anyone has that strip, I'd love a copy.
Puzzles are awesome; like card games, they are symbols to me of abundant time to relax and enjoy a pastime that isn't directed to some major outcome. We always used to have them around the house growing up, and always took fresh one or two when we went annually to a beach cabin for a week with extended family.
I brought one to a beach-cabin vacation with some friends a couple years ago, and on a cloudy afternoon the rest of us drank beer while two of the guys completed a thousand-piece puzzle ninja-style - as an exercise in focused speed. They both remained standing and circled the table, hands trying and rejecting pieces. They were sweating! It was athletic. They finished it in about an hour.
Then maybe I'll switch over to a very special surprise...
...and also perhaps pick up some of these '60s Peanuts books (or other strips) on eBay or Amazon or Abe's for later. They wouldn't be the same as one from my actual childhood, but still fun.
Does anyone like the idea of a weekly "Toons for Tuesday" or maybe (even better?) "the Sunday Comics"?
Once a week I could probably post some VERY cool stuff from my collection (and you could join me, especially GeckoDundee), as well as a daily page of a classic vintage book.
Puzzles always remind me of summers up at whatever cottage my dad rented for a few weeks, and thus of rain on the roof, swimming in the lake, finding a private place to hide and read for hours. Thanks for bringing that back, shane.
My current happiness is having a perfect cup of tea in my favourite mug.
