Ever feel like someone designed a record label just for you? Just discovered this and must share it. Roots, country and mountain music mixed with hip-hop beats. Where do I sign? [More:]Dig the blurb: New american music for the 21st century that connects the deserts of the Southwest with the brownstones of old Brooklyn neighborhoods... calling on the spirit of Gram Parsons and Otis Redding and KRS-ONE and Dolly Parton and Nina Simone and Willie Nelson and Missy Elliott and Johnny Cash, talented artists getting their voice in the mix, because to make it happen is reason enough, and to share it with the world is all the reason you need, because we tell the truth with music and the truth is beautiful.

I found this the roundabout way. About a year ago I went to a house concert featuring the Lonesome Sisters, who are truly great, hyper-pure and real mountain / old time vocalists and players. From then on I was a fan of theirs. Reading No Depression a couple weeks ago, I saw their name in conjunction with thier Rench project, Elkhorn Riders. Then found out the label specializes in this kind of collaboration! Yee-ha!

You can hear 3 tracks from Elkorn Riders on the site, and you can preview 2 more here.
