I just invented a cool snack. [More:] Take a roasted vegetable flavored ritz cracker, squirt a dab of honey mustard on it, cut a hunk of kosher salami and place on top, then cut a hunk of Cabot horseradish cheddar and place that on top, then Vlasic chopped hot peppers on top of that and eat. Mouth-punishing but tasty.

Today I've eaten that, plus a can of vienna sausage, some cracker jacks, coffee, pickled eggs and a lotta beer. Now I'm having some mauna loa snack mix to help my mouth recover. I also had a few crackers with limburger cheese spread. They were smelly but tasty.

jonmc - have you ever been introduced to pork floss?

You should be able to buy it from Asian grocery stores in either a canister or plastic package. If they don't understand "pork floss," try "yuak sui" or "yuak soong" (sui is usually more cottony, while soong is crunchier).

Salteen with butter + yuk soong = teh yummy.

Seriously, though...since we've established that the Late Pestocene, the Sundried-Tomato Epoch, and the Late Chipotle Era have passed us by, I have to assume that we are into the Early Dulce De Leche Culinary Eon.

Mmm, mouth-punishing!

Pork floss - huh, didn't know it was called that. It reminds me of flavored shredded wool. Bleh. But maybe I tried the wrong brand.

I seemed to have napped through this yesterday. I did, however, make us his and her salami/limburger spread/hot chopped peppers sandwiches later in the evening...
