9 people on our team are currently being trained because they are new.
of the not-new people:
1 only works 3 days a week
1 only works for days a week and concentrates on only one product
1 does all of our processing
4 have been around so long and are so old that they refuse to try and figure out anything on their own and pay no attention at meetings and then bitch and moan when they do stuff wrong.
the boss has meetings all day
which leaves 3 of us to pick up all the slack, including training of the new people, verification of their work and a whole bunch of other crap that upper management thinks we can do because my boss will never say no. I've spent all day testing 3 products and we get an average of 6 to test each day and they have to be turned around in 24hrs. Below that are heading comparisons for all of my jurisdictions, below that is QC for a recently acquired company whose product is shite, below that are heading fixes from checking the three of us did earlier this week and then at the very bottom is the actual work I was hired to do.
And I'm not even going to talk about how much I get paid for this, and how they've changed our job titles to sound crappier and cut-off all hiring company-wide, and reduce our health and 401k benefits and made out cubicles half their old size and turned in 7% organic growth last quarter.
Once I get $4k saved, I'm quitting, new-job or no, and moving.
Hey, sciurus, I just quit. The freefall feels pretty fucking good. Who needs a parachute anyway? YIIIIII-YIIIII-YIIIIII-YIP-YIP-YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEE! LOOK OUT BELOO-O-O-O-O-OOW!
