So I just got out of our team meeting[More:]

where they've made us become the backups for another team's job because of a missed update from 2 years ago. They've been error free since then [hundreds of updates], but because of that one little missed section, I now have a few more hours a week doing someone else'e job.

In other news, I have a pesto, tomato and emmentaler sandwich on fresh wheat bread for lunch.
Emmentaler?

In other news, I have this weird anxiety about my folks seeing me with piercings when I come visit. I'm not sure why, since I'm a grown man. Must be childhood humiliation flashbacks.

sciurus, that sucks about the extra work, but the sandwich sounds so sweet that I think it might nearly make up for it.

well, no, not really. but it does sound like a great sandwich

Och, man, I hates doing work that shoulda been done years ago. I fix a Y2K bug in one of my reports every day, and it drives me outta my mind. I mean, they didn't fix it, and now when I tell 'em about it, they say, "Y2K? That wasn't nearly as much of a problem as they said. You should be fine just finding and replacing 19s with 20s every day."

I knew they were bad programmers from other baffling logic problems I'd run into with our systems, but not using 4-digit years is just lazy and stupid.

Sandwich sounds good.

Our team was split in two almost two years ago and all the higher paids and none of the work went to the team I'm bitching about. Since then, they've progressively given us what little stuff they did have to our team and now do "product development" which means they have meetings all day dreaming up more work for us to do.

The sandwich was good. Leftover carbonara for dinner tonight...

I'm sorry to hear this, sciurus.

Jonmc, you might always fear your folks but it's normal. I'm sure I'll always fear mine one way or another.

JonMC, have your parents do shoutouts to their friends and post the photos.

I'm prone to anxiety, but my mom is a little, well, insane.
