I've gotton about as good as one can get with MSPaint, but still miss photoshop. I will check this out tonight.

This is asking me to download something called the .NET framework from Microsoft. What is that? I try to avoid installing unnecessary MS software, if possible.

You'll need the .NET framework. It is relatively harmless.

Paint.NET is interesting and good for quick work, but it is missing some simple features of PhotoShop that I really miss. For example, to open more than one image at a time, it opens a whole new instance of itself.

.NET is Microsoft's answer to a question that wasn't asked.

But Paint.Net is pretty great.

My dad just gave me Photoshop elements since he now has a full version of Photoshop. I hope it works ok...
