Question from the clueless: How can I specify the home page for a .com to be something other than index.html?
So I have no index.html in the root, but I have a main.php that is 2 subdirectories below that I want the site to open to. If that makes any sense.

What web server are you using? Apache? IIS?

Putting DirectoryIndex path-to-file in your .htaccess file in the root directory will cause Apache to use path-to-file when someone goes to URL without a filename at the end.

Or, if you're using IIS, click on the "Documents" tab and set the home document.

Yeah, Apache, agro.

Ok, cmonkey. Is that all the .htaccess file should have in it?

Yep, if there's nothing else in it already.
