Yes, I know they're random dictionary words, but sometimes I like to think that Groucho Marx (aka Rufus T. Firefly and Otis P. Driftwood) is emailing me from beyond the grave. And certainly any of his characters could be selling herbal viagra.

I've always loved the sort of surreal quality of spam names... they sound like escapees from a Thomas Pynchon novel.

Cowessess Sealey, Tepa Faletoese, Austin Head, Alfreda Montoya, Ansi Pfluem, Wednesday Treatment, Amputee, Cornie Cox, Virtually Wars, Would Run, Dewey Palmer, Hooda Encarnacion, Candy Kami, Chicken Dessert, Century Proceeds, Bombers Consider, Linwood (funny!)... and much, much more.

For my spam name, I choose.... Iona Bragh. Or maybe Wasp Spandex. Shiftless Overware? Les Cowbell? Bunny Martinis? Gah. This is why I never got into the spam biz. Too many decisions.

I get spam from lots of supposedly "real" sounding names, like "Tom Jones", "Mary James", "Clarence Danes", etc., which makes spam really easy to spot as my friends and acquaintances have names like Claudio, Andrea, Roberto, etc.

For some reason, I get a great deal of spam addressed to "anjanette barley." I really don't understand why, given that all other spam I get is addressed to [and from] the random sorts of spam names listed above.
