I loved hide and seek until I discovered its smarter sister, Kick the Can. Whatta game!
I grew up playing street games with neighborhood urchins. My absolute favorite (still is) is Four-Square, aka boxball. Now I'd love to play that at a meetup.

Oh, man! We played that FANATICALLY in grade school! And my friends and I, especially Scotty Marshall, played two-square for HOURS during the summertime.
Oooh! Oooh! BATTLEBALL was the greatest in gym class too! What a great day it was when they told us we could just play B-Ball all period!
I remember "ironically" reviving 4-square as a senior in high school. Except that within a few minutes we were having so much fun... We played it for months.
Sometimes I play hide and seek with my cat. No, really. I let him see me hiding, and within seconds he's stalking my hiding place. I don't know if it's because he's having fun or because he's evil.
All the time with my 6-year-old. We have a big old quirky house with two staircases and there are lots of neat places to hide. It was cute when he was four and wherever he found me, he would in that exact spot when it was his turn.
The last time I played hide and seek was with the 4 year old nephew of my former roommates.
picture if you will 3 college guys, me, plus one inexhaustible six-year-old playing H&S in a ginormous ramshackle split level house. The kid kicked our butts because he kept finding places (like the top shelf in the garage behind a ton of camping crap) that were too small to even register on our radar. this was a couple years ago and we wound up playing for something like four hours.
I need to find someone else to play with.
btw playing dodgeball as an adult freaking rules. I still can't throw worth shit, but now I'm sneaky, mean, fast and good at catching.
as grade schoolers, we played British Bulldogs until it got outlawed.
