This is not a farewell thread redux →[More:]A few days ago I mentioned the despicable actions of someone I work with. Today I heard through the grapevine that I may be her next target. So while I'm not leaving MeCha, I won't be checking in from work very often now, because I'll be damned if she takes me down, and I don't want to give her any ammo.

But, if someone can help me fix my IRC problem (I do use Chatzilla, I guess), I'll be sure and check in this weekend to chat, as the woman whose husband I am will be out of town, leaving me with too much time and booze on my hands.

tr33hggr, miko posted the answer in that thread.

Open Chatzilla through Firefox (not by clicking on the #bunnies link). In Firefox, go to Tools > Chatzilla.

In Chatzilla, open your preferences. Tools > Options.

Under Global Settings, find the Identification > Description field.

Change "New Now Know How" to anything else -- doesn't matter what.

You should now be able to connect to #bunnies.

Document everything! Print off every relevant email. If you have any kind of case-management system, record all work-related actions on it, whether they relate to this woman or not. If you need anyone to authorise something, get it in writing. Don't give her any ammo to fire (at) you.

Thanks to all! I am in HR now, so I'll watch my step and document everything. But I'll poke my head in here every so often and say hi with hugs and whuffles for everyone!
