Find me a new home page [More:] So. My internet service went down unannounced Saturday. By Tuesday, it magically came back up, with a new home page. I liked the old home page okay, but I'm not crazy about the new one. So... what do you use for your home page?

I am kind of looking for a grab bag kind of site, where I can get some news, some sports, some general interest stuff, a weather report, etc., and also some of my own personal links.

Ideas?
um... totally lame recommendation I know, but Yahoo *does* give you pretty much all you're looking for...

its ok I'll shoot myself now, no really!

I use My Yahoo, which I've personalised for the news, cartoons, sports, weather I like to skim before looking at a real news website like the BBC or Drudge.

Yeah, that is definitely a possibility, but before I settled on Blah-hoo, I thought I would see if there is anything snazzier out there.

I do My Yahoo too. And if that's lame, eh, I don't care.

You can also customize a Google home page, but that's just extra work if you've already done Yahoo.

I use Google's personalised home page and love it to death. But that's just me.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the Google personalized homepage. Plus, if your workplace blocks gmail, you can use the Google homepage to see if you have new messages and see who they're from and a few words of the subject.

I use del.icio.us/recent or sometimes /fun. There's always something new. I'm a sucker for novelty.

Google mostly, and sometimes nothing at all (blank)

When I go online all I want is the time.

netvibes.

mullacc: if gmail is blocked at work, try mail2web.com and accessing gmail via POP.

yeah, about:blank. I have about a dozen href links on my desktop (mecha, mefi, flickr, local radar on weather underground, etc) and if I want something immediately I click on one of those, otherwise I just start it up and get the blank page and go from there.

I decided to go with Google. For now. Thanks for the ideas, folkses.

My FF is set to open several pages in tabs when I start it up: MeFi, Mecha, Gmail, Google news, Netvibes, del.icio.us.
