I found the BEST radio station tonight (a story about love).... →[More:] I was driving back from the city, and I was sleepy enough that I needed some aural stimulation. (The boring tech show on NPR wasn't cutting it.) So I hit seek and seek and seek and seek until I came across one of my very favorite obscure songs ever! I've never, ever heard it anywhere publically, so I' was pretty excited.
Then, the next song was by another of my favorite bands. So I sang along, all perked up.
The third song? By one of my favorite Austin bands! I have now fallen in love with the faceless DJ, and I can't wait for the station ID so that I can track down and stalk said DJ, because I'm sure that person is my soul mate.
I've now reached the toll plaza, so light fills the interior of the car. Bending over to grab the toll money in the ashtray, I notice that my iPod isn't paused, like I thought it was, but is playing. Playing my favorite Austin band.
Turned out that when I plugged the iPod into the transmitter to charge, I accidentally turned it on, so it was my own music I was listening to the whole time -- I just happened to stumble across the right frequency when I was scanning for stations.
Man, was I bummed. Three songs and I thought I'd found the love of my life. Then it turns out that that person is me. What a disappointment.
*sigh*
