Our new family addition→[More:]This is our new family addition, a stray kitten we found peering out from the wheel well of my minivan. She was severely underweight (her spine could be felt like speed bumps), and had an upper
respiratory infection.
We wrangled over her name for a bit, and came up with "Jersey" as in Jersey Girl. Sometimes names are easy, sometimes they're not. I had a cat for 13 years, finally naming her "Pumpkin" after about two months of going back and forth. But I was never sure how I wanted to spell her name-"pumpkin" or "punkin". Silly, isn't it?
What a cutie pie! I want a cat, but I can't decide between the "wait and one will show up" approach, or the "go down to the shelter you lazy bum" approach...
Muddgirl, I've had 9 cats in my life, and with the exception of the very first (admittedly, my Mom's cat) and the second to this one, all have been strays/foundlings in one way or other. The cat previous to this one (his name is Teddy) was supposed to just visit for 4 months while his owner was on tour. That was six-and-a-half years ago. Funny thing, the last "orphan" to show up in my yard (different yard) is now nine, and I was kind of wishing for a new "baby"....
..my husband laughingly swears I wished Jersey into being.
Nice! My wife has been making some noise about getting a kitten again. I'm still not sure how our big dog will handle it but I wouldn't mind having a kitty around again myself.
(I added the heart, pupps, in another thread... But now I see it's messing up linkage to her profile, so I'm going to make LeeJay heartless once more. :) )
