Although hoaxers claim to have made most of them, I doubt they could - many of them are so mathematically precise and intricate that I don't believe that a group of people could, in the dark, create such things, within the space of a few hours of darkness in midsummer. It's not fully dark here until almost 10pm, and it starts to get light around 4am, so the window of time is very small, if it's people doing it.
