Can't wait, ej! It's gonna be a blast! Barbary Coast looks cool, too. I like the Victorian-style rooms, and ya can't beat the location and price.

And what Vegas truly needs is a Pink Superhero! JetBlue's a bargain at $318 roundtrip, taxes and fees included... Come with, pink? Bring a friend? : )

We arrive on Thursday, 9/21, and leave Sunday, 9/24, by the by... I would love to have made it a longer trip, but work prohibits, I'm afraid.

(we only booked one room, alas... wish it was a whole floor!)

YAAAAAAAAAAAY! That's so cool, TPS! (jon had to cover his ears from my shriek!)

Maybe we're on the same flights... We're on the 9:20am to Vegas and the 5:00pm back, same days as y'all.

I spent a few hours perusing hotels this morning, cause I'm obsessive that way... this map of the strip was helpful for figuring out what's where for a relative nubie like me... I narrowed it to the Barbary, Flamingo, Luxor, or Stratosphere myself (Stratosphere's a bit far from the action, though), but there are other options, too, depending on budget/location considerations, etc... Barbary seemed really nice, though I don't think it has a pool... of course, Caesar's is always my dream location (amazing pool), but rather expensive that weekend...

Luxor and Stratosphere are miles away from the best parts of The Strip. It is seriously vast, runs for miles.

Seeing as jon can have my share of the Vegas booze allocation, I expect we can get him very drunk indeed :-)

I think we should get jon drunk and then put him on that thing on the top of the Stratosphere that swings him out over the side.

My favourite hotel is the Venetian. It's amazing, the recreation of the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge ON THE SECOND FLOOR!!!

Yeah, that was my concern with the Stratosphere and Luxor, too, though there is bus and trolley service...

The Venetian is beautiful, ej... the rooms look gorgeous, too... every room a suite... that weekend seems relatively pricey, though, at a lot of the major hotels (in the $600 to $800 range for three nights, compared to $300 to $400 at the Barbary and others I mentioned)... The Bellagio's also a stunner... Prices at the Paris also didn't seem quite as steep ($600 range)... last week in August, Caesar's is only $120 a night, and the Flamingo's a mere $50 some nights (darn!)... I stayed at the Flamingo... very nice... old school, nice pool...

(on preveiw: awesome, pink! Jon and I have never flown together... I promised him the window seat on the way out... mimosas all around! : )

The Flamingo has an amazing lunchtime buffet. I loaded up my plate, thought that was the buffet, but it was only the hors d'oevres part of it!

I just looked at the website for the Barbary Coast and the rates have gone up since I booked. My room for a week works out at $785 including tax (for 5 nights that'll be split with George's sister who is staying Tuesday-Sunday morning) but if I booked it now it'd be almost $860.
