What with the recent death of Syd Barrett as well, this is proving to be a rough time for psychedelic music fans like myself.

I saw Love live a couple of years ago supported by The Seeds. I wasn't really expecting much from Lee as I thought after his term in prison he might be a broken man - I couldn't have been more wrong. It was a fantastic night. OK, most of us would look pretty sharp following Sky Saxon, but seriously, he was as sharp as a scalpel.

Anyway, I honestly believe that Forever Changes is one of the best albums ever made (Da Capo and Four Sail aren't too shabby either!) - it's Pet Sounds for cynical bastards like me. Lee may have been far past his creative peak (boy what a peak!) but knowing he won't be around anymore makes me feel genuinely sad.
