Las Vegas is solely responsible for my fear of heights. The first night I was there, I walked out on the balcony, looked out at the strip and got hit with vertigo so hard I've been afraid of heights ever since.
I did ride the rollercoaster on the Stratosphere, though. Getting into the car was the scariest part.
Strap me in! I love rollercoasters of every kind. I rode the one at the NY, NY casino, though, and came away with quite the bruise on my chest. But I do still love coasters.
Hell, yeah, Pips! The NY, NY Coaster beat the hell out of me, too! I had bruises on my chest and shoulders for a week. Not cool! The Scream at the top of the Stratosphere was fun, though, although it broke when we got on it. Broke as in wouldn't run, not as in hurled us over the edge, mores the pity. We had to come back. But we got an extra free ride for our trouble. Woot!
They'd better have ten times the maintenance and inspections, though. Ground-based rollercoasters occasionally have non-fatal accidents and "stucks" and you can't, y'know, easily get a rescue hook and ladder near there ...
It's a rather strange place, hellbient... like wandering through a movie set of your life... I wish it was nicer than it is... a lot of kids and arcade games... they do have Nathan's, though...
