I too made a huge post, and I spent like an hour on it and it got peed on and turned into a derail! :P I still like it though, weird links and all. Next time I will put all the wikipedia links in I guess..or pick a webbier subject.

I would guess that a concise post on an interesting topic, especially if it includes a really interesting site or internet application is more likely to win than a long rambly post full of links. But I'm not worried about it.

I just had enough of the heat today and decided to get around to one of the posts I have been wanting to do for a while. I have several in a similar vein that are "started" at least to the extent that I have a bunch of bookmarked links and a little bit in a .txt file. At least a dozen links for this post were no longer good and had to be scrapped or replaced. I think I started to do a couple of posts about Australian wildlife over a year ago but I do not remember why I didn't end up doing it.

I know I left out some Australian critters that I wanted to include. If one occurs to me, I will post it in a comment I guess.

Every poster who has the same name at MeFi should show up on the list... But, there's only a limited space for how many will show up on our sidebar (no more than ten at a time, I think). So someone could have made a post a few hours ago, showed up on our sidebar, then been pushed right off by several of our people making posts after him/her.

BTGOG - it probably is the difference in caps for you. We can change your name here to match that one, and you will probably show up. Let me know.
