4.7 Earthquake 10 miles from Santa Rosa Does anyone know if Wimpdork and other North Bay folks are okay?
Magnitude's just been revised to 4.4.

Felt it here, but no damage.

Did this just happen? I was cooking dinner and it felt like something shook hard, and I couldn't tell if it was an earthquake or the upstairs neighbors.

And the Chronicle seems to think there were no injuries.

I didn't feel a thing. How do I always miss them?

I'd imagine there's not much damage from a wee little shaker like a 4.4. But you never know.

Whenever we have them I always seem to be on my motorcycle and never feel them.

I left wimpdork a message. Her phone and answering machine are still working, at least!

goml, you know, everytime I go to the USGS site I always end up whistling to myself because its such an amazingly cool site. Thanks for the reminder!

And here's a little earthquake music to enjoy.

I was 12 miles from the epicenter of the '71 San Fernando 6.7 quake; spent much of it in the doorway of my bedroom looking into the back yard as my family's recently-built swimming pool emptied itself.

Then I was 4 miles from the epicenter of the '94 Northridge quake, also 6.7; couldn't get to doorway because I was in a waterbed trying to empty itself with a panicky wife AND a panicky dog. Good times.

I was on the Bay Bridge during the big Quake in SF and saw people fall off.

I am still alive! I was at work when it happened. It was kind of cool watching the windows shake. Not so cool watching the lights sway, though.

I'm in NYC, but I'm also okay. Thx.

You can feel a 4.7? When I lived in S.F. I could never feel anything less than a 5. (I was in Loma Prieta, and the 2 quakes in Seattle.)

Portland had a 3.8 this morning. I'm pretty sure this is a sign of the End Times.

You can feel a 4.7?

Probably not, judging from her comment. You can sure see it, though.
