I hate when they do that to me and then I have to go out in the sun, my eyes will tear up like no one's business. And then people think I'm loony.

Ugh, that's so annoying. A year or so ago I had my eyes dilated FOUR times over the period of a couple weeks.

It's the first time I've gotten an eye exam in five or six years, despite wearing contacts daily, so I can't complain too much.

What's nice is that my prescription hasn't changed in that entire time.

Oh, and the optometrist told me my eyes were so pretty that she first thought I was wearing colored lenses.

I am such a sucker for doctors' complimenting me. My dentist telling me I had pretty teeth made my week.

Dilated pupils are a subtle sign that someone thinks you're cute when they are flirting with you.

Be careful where you point those things!

*steals eyedrops and starts flirting madly*

And then they give you those wacky old lady wraparound sunglasses if you forgot to bring some of your own.

occhiblu, the fun part is having to repeatedly tell your colleagues at work that no, indeed, you are NOT tripping...

anyway. fun useless cinematic trivia: makeup artists will often use dilating drops in actor's eyes to indicate insanity or unhinged-ness as it makes them look creepier. i.e. Hayden Christensen in SW II and III can't believe just I admitted to watching those abortions and Elijah Wood in 'Sin City'.

in elden days, courtesans used 'belladonna' drops to give them a wide-eyed, innocent gamine look... which quite frequently led to serious eye problems and even blindness.

I hate those stupid dilating eyedrops. I can't put my glasses back on [because generally the eyes are dilated slightly differently, and I can't focus right], and also my eyes are hugely dilated, so I'm completely blind. Ugh. And it takes forever for the effect to wear off.
