Adventures in medicine update. Pips began running a fever Thursday night.
→[More:] We were told that was a warning sign that gallstones were becoming inflamed so we cabbed it up to Washington Heights and the emergency room. After only 9 or so hours of sheer bliss, she was admitted and we were shuttled up to their branch in Inwood, where this afternoon, in a procedure that went swimmingly, Pips was relieved of her gall bladder. So, next time you see her she'll have a lot less gall.
She's resting comfortably and recovering nicely. Me, I'm bushed since I've been awake (minus a catnap on a gurney for an hour) since 7am Wednesday, and my back is sore from sitting on stray heelchairs and ER floors, but it's worth it to see Pips feel better. I'll be visiting her again tommorrow morning and will relay all well-wishes.
