Find That Movie Poster: I watched Kino's restoration of Die Nibelungen this weekend and I love the cover-art but can't find out who the artist was or where I can get a print, or at least a desktop quality image of this. It is probably from the original release of 1924... Any advice?
I've already emailed Kino, btw.

I found this page from some Aussie MP who used to be the archivist at the University of Wollongong and looks like he might have had a copy of the poster, but the site is only waybacked, so most images are borked. I wonder if I should email him too... This is tough but fun.

You might find a lead in this 1998 MoMA exhibit of UFA posters (scroll down). Might could find an exhibition catalog.

Good luck, sciurus! You may also be interested in these largish scans of Arthur Rackham Nibelungen illustrations (8 pages of thumbnails).

oh, I forgot: there's also this different poster for Lang's film.

I'm really fascinated at how the story unfolds, a traditional Nordic epic [dragon-slaying and oath-making] that eventually blends with fact-based historic events [Attila's invasion]. And how easily Siegfried compares to Achilles.

thanks for the help, btw!
