OMG Joux-Plane! Epic! Heroic! Now, is Saturday going to be awesome or what? I know some of you know what I'm talking about.
Dammit, wolfdog, you beat me to the punch. What an incredible ride. I am in awe and nearly speechless right now.

"Wow" is the only word to describe it.

I have been emitting some other words too.

Top three separated by 31 seconds going into Stage 18??? Lance's domination was phenomenal but not one of his seven wins was nearly as exciting as this Tour has been.

Floyd may not be in yellow but he has the psychological lead in this race right now. He's the best time-trialist of the three and they all know it.

Absolutely Merckx-like. And yes, he's not only the best time-trialist on paper, he's riding a mental wave delivering a crushing message of dominance. I think Sastre's more dangerous than Pereiro in the TT, but Landis put more than a minute into him on stage 7 over similar distance - with much less on the line at the time.

I might have to rename my cat to Floyd...

Carlos Sastre on Landis:
Landis did a sensational stage and deserves congratulations. I saw him today and I thought he would attack. He went like an eagle on the first climb and against that you can't do anything. It was too early for me, I needed to conserve my energy. If I cannot [win the race], then I'll be happy for having given everything.

Quotes from other riders are similarly congratulatory and awe-struck. I thought it was unusual that the peloton was letting Floyd go when he went but it's evident that not a single person gave him a chance to do what he did today - everybody figured he was going too early out of desperation and that he'd bonk again. Even I wrote him off yesterday. I am thrilled to be proven wrong.

Have either of you seen The Triplets of Belleville?

Yes, but I really didn't love it as much as I thought I would.

Not enough cycling?

Eh, it's been a while since I watched it but I think the problem was more with "not enough story" than anything else. I did like it, it's just I was expecting quite a lot given that I love animated movies, cycling, and general weirdness.

Yeah, it could have benefited from 20 more minutes of plot.

I am positively bristling with anticipation of watching this stage tonight. This is the only sport that I can watch a broadcast with so much excitement while already knowing the outcome.
