The Isobel Campbell/Mark Lanegan album is really nice in a Lee Hazlewood/Nancy Sinatra kind of vibe. Guillemots, I like some songs, others haven't grabbed me yet. Thom Yorke, it goes without saying, is an album I like a lot.
The Eraser is moving close to Kid A in my heart of hearts, which is saying a great deal, for me. I fellated reviewed it for Junkmedia here, though I wish I could go back and take out some of those unecessary commas, now: it was done rather quickly. Also, I spot a typo. Gah.
I find the Guillemots irritating for some reason, and I do hope that the Arctic Monkeys don't walk off with the award-- given the Mercury's track record, it could be the last nail in the coffin for their career. Which surely should be coming to an end fairly soon?
Editors are a band I had an awful lot of time for last year, but the charm has worn off recently. The album does hang together well, though. As for Guillemots and Isobel Campbell, I will brook no criticism - they are both wonderful albums (although the former takes some time to grow on you).
