SAM!!! Okay, SAM was the sheepdog, and Ralph was Wile E with a different name. Thanks. Wish I could revise my comment now.
I had two bosses like that once. They'd politely say good morning, sit down and have coffee and chit-chat, then when the work-bell rang the one boss (who had been a sargeant in Vietnam) would call the other into his office and yell at him, sometimes for 20 minutes straight. Surreal.
They are komondors (some people still say komondorok for the plural). They were supposed to spend all their life out with a flock of sheep and blend in with them right up to the point where a predator showed up. The Puli is similar-looking but smaller; I think nobody really knows if the two breeds have a common heritage or represent more of a convergent evolution process.
Also, that girl in the komondor pictures improves the world when she smiles.
Oops,on review, I missed Wolfdog's much better link. I can't imagine how these dogs feel when you pet them. Do they even feel it? And do they get tangled?
