A compulsive, exhaustive chronicle of pips's birthday weekend. Starting here and ending here. Featuring shoutouts galore, drunken Jerseyites, pork roll, drunken action figures and ridiculously large seafood. Despite this sign, NO jonmc nudity, guaranteed.

Yes, I'm compulsive, deal.
Meat coma approaching.
Haha...

Yay I got a shoutout! I am no longer invisible...whoo hoo! Thanks, Pips ;)

Boy, that's a lot of shoutouts. And yet...

Looks like a good time was had by all!
Yep; homesick.

I love Pips' shirt. It looks great on you, Pips.

My first shoutout! Thanks, you two!

We have that Peel's malt beverage here in Illinois as well. It's . . . not bad really!

Dig that menu!

I'd have wished her a happy, but Embarq DSL ruined that.

So, belated Happy birthday, OOF!

Looks like a great time, Pips; sorry I missed it (though waterfalls and bears were a good alternative). Soon I will be solvent and we'll have a belated toast.

For some reason that picture series reminds me of a song my brother wrote:

Tasty toasted, got me roasted,
Lost our clothes out in the rain;
Hey Maria, got my beer,
Skinny dip in Lake Champagne...

Yay! Good times and a shoutout to me! With iconomy, no less! Thank you!

Y'all were there in spirit... glad youse liked the shoutouts! : )

Great pics, jonmc! I've lived in Highlands, in walking distance to Bahr's. They once filmed a movie with Jeff Golblum that was never released in Highlands. One night they closed off that bridge you crossed over to film a scene where two people jumped off.
I grew up in Red Bank, when it wasn't such a chic place as it is now. But it looks like you passed Mr. Pizza Slice (though you said it was closed) where I spent many a weekend. And it looks like you visited Funk and Standard's unique store. And my parents met in Jack's Music store, though it was in a different place then. Ah, the memories!!

did you see your first shoutout, redvixen?

I don't know what I'm more excited about, my shoutout or the existence of deepfried mac and cheese. My god...it's like a revelation.

Upon further review, jonmc, I'm liking the facial hair quite a bit.
posted by rainbaby 18 July | 13:21
Thanks. Between that, the earrings and the longer hair, I'm going for a suave urban pirate thing, or as Divine Wino said "You look like you sell discount stereos out of your car trunk! I approve!"

It's bristly. : )

(in a good way)

I was just lookin' through all the pics... great captions, sweets...

That's so cool, Miko, that you knew the bartender at Dublin. (Thanks for the compliment on my shirt, too, by the by...)

And Zack_Replica... your flickr comments were hilarious! I did feel a bit bad 'bout eating such an old soul... with melted butter, no less...
posted by Pips 18 July | 14:14
Well, you know, you look at the pictures, and the first thing that came to mind was "she can't eat that! It's bigger than her head! You open up dark gateways to evil if you eat things bigger than your head!"
It also reminded me of all the lobster I ate when I was in Belize. mmmm. fresh lobster.
posted by Zack_Replica 18 July | 14:41
Oh and cheers for the shoutout... it was my first!

redvixen: holy cow, my brother was an extra in that movie! He was in a scene they shot in Asbury Park. We were miffed that it never surfaced.

I'm trying to remember what the new Jack's store location used to be before Jack's moved. Carroll's stationery?

In case y'all hadn't gathered it, thanks to jon and pips, redvixen and I know now that we share the same hometown.
posted by Miko 18 July | 16:06
And the same high school. Of course, I was a lofty senior when Miko was just a freshman. (yeah, right) I can't remember what was there. I remember Woolworths, Prowns (when it was really cool), and Carroll's, plus all those stores that would come and go. But Royal Box is still there.

Of all the wonderful people I've met here from all around the world, I was lucky enough to meet another hometown girl! Jersey Girls Rule! (tee hee)

And jonmc and pips-my first shoutout! *wipes tear* I am somebody! Or, "You like me, you really like me!"
