OMG Flickr Pro! Someone bought me a Flickr Pro account![More:]Yeah, I'm pimping my shit again. But since I now have mass bandwidth I've been going nuts. Many more photos now.
OK, so get with the porn making already.

You really don't want me to do that. You just think you do. :)
posted by loquacious 13 July | 10:59
you could be behind the camera, dude.
posted by jonmc 13 July | 11:00
Oh, right. Now where did I put that chicken?
posted by loquacious 13 July | 11:09
You, sir, are a flickr whore. Good day to you!

Oh and here's my stuff in case anyone wants to look at it... ;)

Here is my super cool beetle-fucking photo, and a great bee close-up by fenriq.
posted by iconomy 13 July | 11:14
That rocks pretty hard.
posted by seanyboy 13 July | 11:18
The best part of my beetle photo is the tags that people have added.

Loq I really like the wet grasshopper. It makes me want a grasshopper, the drink. Holy crap those are good.

And, OMG BUNNY!
posted by iconomy 13 July | 11:23
Don't forget to add yourself here, loq. (I was just about to suggest such a page, found one already existed, and just added myself.)

Those beetles are great! Amazing color.

Yay, new conctacts!

Added.

I hope you won't be dropping all us poor non-pro schlubs from your contact list.

You, sir, are a flickr whore.

Why thank you. It's addictive as hell. Hey, wanna see my vacation photos?

I hope you won't be dropping all us poor non-pro schlubs from your contact list.

Of course, man. You guys suck. Dork.

I've been pretty consistently impressed with the photography skills of the MeCha crowd, and with Flickr in general. I can see it getting to the point of overload, though.

I'm pretty stoked. I was starting to conserve my bandwidth quota 'cause I'd used 80% in 24/hrs. My brother (Elbow Donkey in my contacts) bought it for me sometime last night.

Soonish I'm cruising down to this coffee house hunting for shots for this weeks Photo Friday.

Also, despite all the bitching I hear about flickr's user interface, it makes, say, MySpace look and feel like buttered baby jesus buttocks.
posted by loquacious 13 July | 12:03
Those are Japanese Beetles and unless you murderize them quickly they will be far worse next year. One female can lay as many as 200 eggs.
The one at the top is about to do a donkey punch or dirty sanchez.

Also, you can carefully slip a lasso of thread beneath their wing covers and they'll fly around on a leash. Bonus points for lassoing a dozen or more on individual strands and cruising around the neighborhood in a cloud of beetles.

Is that... really really good, or really really bad?
posted by Specklet 13 July | 12:30
iconomy, thanks for the link and comment! I dig on your beetle orgy, well, not in that way but I like the photo!

BoringPostcards, neat! Now if I could only export the Flickrific list straight into Flickr (why can't I organize my contacts in Flickr better?).

Has anyone else made any serious dent in the monthly upload limit since going pro? I don't think I've broken 10%.
posted by fenriq 13 July | 12:43
I think that a good Friday thread would be to present the image in flickr that you feel is most unjustifiably unappreciated. Something that you felt would rock the net, once posted, that fell, sadly on deaf ears (or blind eyes, or sumthin).

Along with some whining about it.

Maybe next Friday?
posted by danf 13 July | 12:44
danf, I like that idea.

fenriq, even on months when I've taken a trip or something and have lots of pics, I've never gone over 3% of my upload limit, at least according to the little batch uploader app.

I like that theme for a Photo Friday.
posted by loquacious 13 July | 12:54
I like that theme for a Photo Friday.

But with bonus points for explaining why we were crushed that the rest of the world did not share our enthusiasm.
posted by danf 13 July | 13:14
I like it too. Let's make it so.

Whining and fawning, what could be better? And for anyone who doesn't use flickr or upload photos, you can post photos that you would like comments on. We should make this the official theme for next Friday, and the week after that the theme will be alphabetica.
posted by iconomy 13 July | 13:19
BoringPostcards, on second thought, there's no way I got near 10% either.

danf, that's a great theme.
posted by fenriq 13 July | 13:19
That came across a lot more dictator-ish than it sounded in my head.
posted by iconomy 13 July | 13:21
and the week after that the theme will be alphabetica.

And Friday, October 27 we can do pics of our most embarassing bodily features.

Dibs on that.

*smile*

Ooo, I love alphabetica. (see my profile on MeFi.)

Hey, will someone who isn't a wikidiot like me add me to that flickrific wiki site? I tried but could not figure it out. My flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/flisspix/

thanks!

Done.

Dear Loq,

I was going to post a comment on this pic

To the effect of, "Yo, I heard that motherfucking cactus had like, thirty goddamned dicks."

But then I remembered you mentioning your family members look at your flickr. You're welcome.
posted by SassHat 13 July | 15:08
Ah, go for it. They're not easily offended. But explaining the in-joke would be convoluted at best. :)
posted by loquacious 13 July | 16:11
Also: I just got back from the coffee shop I mentioned earlier. My freshly charged batteries took a shit and I was only able to shoot about a dozen pics, but I got some interesting ones:
