Saw him at the Chicago Theatre on his last tour. Definitely worth going, although I can't make it this time around.

Hell yeah, and the Auditorium's accoustics are even better than the Chicago's. I saw Ani DiFranco and Andrew Bird play there last winter, and I could hear them take swigs of their water bottles from nearly the back of the floor.

So, when I was living in Northern Bay Area of California, I went to see Chuck D speak at the local university one evening. At one point in his lecture he goes "I heard Tom Waits is in the audience...Tom...you here?" Then 15 chairs to the right of me, Tom in his deep voice goes, "Right here".

I was like, "WTF, fuckin awesome." He lives in that area and I had caught glimpses of him before and also caught him in the grocery store once. But, I have never seen him play live, unfortunately.

Chuck D gave a shout out to Tom Waits? I love it!
