SpoFi status? →[More:]This is a semi-longshot I'm guessing, but posting it to MetaTalk seemed like a setup for flaming. Does anyone know what's up, down, or sideways with everyone's favorite MeFi related sports site?

Are you logged in? I reset my cookies, and saw the same Front Page that jrssi4r did, but once I logged in, i got the same error message as togdon. I'm guessing this is going on for everyone (and has been for quite a while). Anyone tried e-mailing the admins?

I emailed justgary earlier today (because rcade had not returned my email yet) and gary said it looks like the database is full and the only one who can fix it is rcade. And rcade isnt' responding to gary's emails either, so gary is guessing that rcade is out of town.

Sucks that SpoFi 2.0 has been nixed and no PHP port is in the works as previously was being discussed. *sigh*

The site "works," but no one has posted anything to it since July 8 or 9. I think that you can only see it if you aren't logged in, which makes it hard to post.

On preview, I see everyone else has seen the same thing.

Sadly, wendell, it's not the first time. SpoFi's already lost the first 1K FPP's and comments and all but the last week's Locker Room posts to maintain the status quo.

Then again, they were promised return some (at least) year and a half ago. Along with SpoFi 2.0.

It hasn't really been nixed. All the plans that were suppose to be part of spof 2.0 are still there, but they would be built into the current coldfusion setup, not a new php setup that had been discussed. The lost comments are also still there, but moved to a different server.

Of course, right now we don't even have spofi 1.0 working, so I wouldn't even try to predict the future. (rogers is the only one with access to the server)

But gary, can I honestly ask a question (and I really don't mean this in some asshole-ish way)? Given that we aren't supposed to discuss this in the LR, is SpoFi 2.0 really a reality? I know I'm not alone in wondering.

Ufez, I can say yes with as much confidence as someone who's not at all involved in that side of things.

But yes, those plans are on (unless somethings gone wrong these last few days more than a full database). First, we needed a new server. And it's up. I can go there now. It's just not fully working yet. There were a few problems that needed to be ironed out (member pages for example). But it's up. Before adding the features that have been discussed for the past several years we need to fully migrate over. The last I knew rcade was working on those issues. But I know he's got a full plate.

But I can understand the wondering. I'm hoping if we can get the new server fully functioning and make the jump the rest will come quicker.

I checked rcade's blog a couple days ago and it looks like he's on vacation. I wasn't going to bother a man on his day off. gary, is there anyway those of us with a bit of technical derring-do could help?
