Be Good Tanyas: Someone with immaculate taste and my complete and total trust→[More:]recommended this group. I have downloaded some samples and am unsure.

Anyone have an opinion, for the good or for the ill?

I second Meeks and Pups rec's: fantastic band. Also, if you find you like them, get ahold of Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter. Local Seattle band that is mesmerizing.

I like them a lot, given that my ability to consume country-type stuff is limited to about an hour at a time. I've actually seen them live twice (at festivals), and enjoyed them very much.

Durn good band. And as Mudpup's sez, Jolie Holland's solo stuff is really great. Very different from the Tanya's: sorta' morphine-infused country-lounge.
