Is this a biased summary?Judge says mom can't move: The BC Supreme Court decision is bowing to the wishes of an ex-husband by preventing a Kelowna woman from moving to a new community with her children.
That's really odd. I can see if the father lived right there in the same general area, but Norway? He's still got to go 1/3 the around the world either way...
The judge also said there was a "questionable willingness" on the part of the father, who lives in Norway, to continue to visit his children if they moved to Bowen Island.
Yeah - that be wack. How does living in Kelowna vs. Bowen island any different if the father lives in Norway. Sure, there's an extra ferry trip - but, jeeze.
Hopefully this gets overruled and the mother's new beau has the salt to be a "dad" to the kids.
I was pretty much on board until I saw that the dad lives in freakin Norway. Bowen Island is a few hours away from Kelowna. He just can't fly that extra distance or what?
Guys, I know the father is an asshat. The question was whether the summary is biased.
Describing them as "her" children goads me: they are "his" children, too. Describing him as the ex-husband, but not her as an ex-wife. "Bowing to the wishes" seems perjorative to me; the judge should, I hope, have more behind his decision than that.
