I don't get Specklet's. I like it, but I don't get it.

richat: In my personal experience caring for two whippets for five years, they are CHARMERS!!! They act all weak and meek when they look at you with those eyes, but they are manipulating you with them instead, but act like: Wha? Who me? So the cartoon: whippets are skinny, but live a fat life because they have the innate ability to manipulate humans towards their own designs with their deep, soulful eyes, but they're laughing all the way to the fridge. IMHO...

I just noticed the paw print on the back of the woman in the drawing.

Subliminal meaning: This dog will walk all over you, and you will think it was your own idea.

Damn, now I'm obsessed with whippets again.

Richat - It's a Beastie Boys lyric (unless it was something else before the BBoys appropriated it). "Phat" in the hip-hop sense.

One thing you ought to know
Well I'm the maestro
Yea you motherfuckers, I'm all that
I see you lookin' at me sayin'
How can he be so skinny and live so phat
You know why 'cause I'm the maestro

Does no one notice that the woman in Specklet's cartoon is putting her bra (back) on?

Yeah, I see the bra and the paw print, and I don't get it. Do you?
posted by rainbaby 06 July | 13:12
Yeah, I get it. It's kind of icky.

Okay, I'm good now. Thanks.

I think I want a whippet though. I like the sound of an utterly charming dog. I won't, however, let it have sex with me. Honest.

Greyhounds are cooler, and they don't whine.

Richat, whippets are good to have around. They don't take up much space. And if you have company over, you can just slide the dog behind the couch.

I have a funny whippet story about being a suburban girl. I grew up in a small city. IN high school, I got into camping and backpacking and used to do a lot of weekends in the Appalachians of NJ, NY, and PA with a youth group.

So, I'm like, fifteen, and one night we're sitting around the campfire when there's a tearing sound in the brush, and out of nowhere these two long-legged, fast, graceful animals burst from the trees and go bounding right through our campfire site and disappear into the night again. Everyone stood up, astounded. I said "Whoa! Where did those whippets come from?!"

They were deer.
