So my best friend Jennifer got UnMarried a couple weeks ago. The celebration was held in the lovely gardens where the original wedding took place. Attending was myself and our other best friend Tom.
It truly was gorgeous and lovely and sweet. We both wore our wedding dresses, I made the wreaths for our hair. Tom considers himself to be divorced by association.
An unmarriage is when you're divorced but need a ceremony and celebration for closure. We'd been planning to have one for Jennifer for almost two years.
She said that her unwedding day was as beautiful and as meaningful as her wedding day had been... and much less stressful.
It really was the most gorgeous day. We had an incredibly lovely time.
Oh and who did the photo where the background's been greyscaled? How they did that??? Did they use a wacom? I mean, I know technically how you do it, but I can never get the edges of the parts that remain color to stay so clean and sharp.
ico, it's a feature on Tom's camera. You sample a color, then the camera makes all but that color black and white. In that photo he had sampled her hair; it's just that she has such beautiful coloring that her hair and eyes and lips all match!
What I meant was, in the universe of Flickr, it's kind of funny to tag photos with "me" or "jennifer," because those tags don't really refine a search very much. Not like, say, "New York City."
But then I looked at the jennifer tag. And most of the pictures are of Jennifer. That Jennifer.
Gorgeous pics, which had me confused, I thought there'd been a girl-girl wedding, but now I understand and I think it's a great idea to have an unmarriage celebration. You both look absolutely beautiful. Tom is very cute This picture is glorious.

Ahhh, yes. (I'll admit, though, I was being a leettle deliberatley obtuse.) Well, I tagged those as such for searches whilst in my pages.
Jan, he totally is. We were together for a long time, but now are just best friends. I still get a pang every once in a while, though, when I think about how adorable he is!
I've never been to an unmarriage, but I have been to a couple divorce receptions.
I was planning on having one myself, actually. Since, well, any excuse for a big party for all my friends.
The unmarriage seems a lot more meaningful and a lot less drunken.
Great - Now I'm obsessed with the idea of an un-Hen Party.

Actually, you need a bit more info. "L" means learner. You have to wear "L" plates when you're taking driving lessons. For some obscure reason, the "L" plate has transferred to brides to be. Don't ask me why. I didn't make the rules.
Wow. That's enough to make me want to get divorced. That and the fact that all the appliances we got for our wedding are wearing out after ten years. I need an unwedding and a rewedding...more parties and free stuff.
