What parts would we play? Argh...if I had only know they were shooting a biopic about Halston I would have recommended dobbs for the part, and of course, ThePinkSuperhero would costar as the ever spunky Liza Minelli, since she is a much prettier version anyway. No way can Zooey pull off the great 'Liza with a Z'![More:]

So what other parts do you think could have or should have been played by MetaChatters?
I could play the sexy houseboy, because every good movie needs a sexy houseboy.

Specifically, you could and should play the part of Kato, the psychotic houseboy from the Pink Panther movies.

Ahem.

There's a difference between a house and a cabana, Cabana Boy. I have just recommended you for the lead role as pimp to a mansion full of beautiful girls in the aptly titled Pool Boy, which starts production next year. You can thank me later.

ico, I am neither chinese nor psychotic, and I'm much cuter than kato.

Is it wrong that I just decided that matildaben should have starred in Bound?

Tennessee Sam = guy with the bottles on his fingers that says "Warriors, come out to playyyeayyy."

essexjan - Saffy in Absolutely Fabulous.

Ha! Thanks, ico! (Though I think you've got me pegged wrong. I'm not very fashionable.) Though I am sold on the thought of wiggling with TPS! Where do I sign?

I actually ran into Tennessee at the deli about 2 hours ago. I can tell you that in his accent that would sound really bizarre.

Hey, my casting is all about making strong choices. Remakes are tricky. Deal with it, or settle it on the couch.

(the part I would be perfect for would be Jack Black's role in High Fidelity)

dobbs, it's not about fashion, it's about style, baby!

I think taz could slide right into the part of Glinda from The Wizard of Oz. She's commanding and authoritative, yet comforting and maternal. I've heard her voice and it's mellifluous and soothing. Plus she would look awesome in an 80 pound pepto-bismol pink dress.

jon, what about the rest of us? You've already been cast.

Gaspode: Only if they remake it to be a threesome. I couldn't decide between Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly.

Divine_Wino would make an excellent corrupt union boss or something. rainbaby would be great as a wacky-madcap type-o-gal. Joe Famous would play Shaft, no matter what the picture.

Weird character parts for me please, like the walleyed guy who finds the first body, or anything Jack Nance ever did.

LT is the Kramer-type neighbor who pops in and says bizarre and funny things unprovoked.

I nominate Hugh Janus for the part of Walter in Big Lebowski, for the nihilist ear biting scene alone...

I can't decide if I want to be sophisticated and sultry like Marlene Dietrich, or loveable and sweetly goofy, like Amelie...

But I'm definitely a leading lady.

I'm Jim from The Office*. To a T.

*American version, shut up I like it and think it's hilarious and piss myself every Thursday night.

I was told by a friend once that he was going to one day make a movie about a speakeasy, starring himself as the tough guy detective who's fallen on hard times. He said that I would play the bar matron, a Mae West-type broad with lots of attitude. I was very flattered.

In reality, I think I would probably play the sassy chubby friend of the main character (Specklet?) who helps her friend get over the boy or whatever stupid movies are about these days.

I'd be honored to have a side kick like you, SassHat.

Yay Flo! Hi!

Hi!
One time I helped a friend throw out her abusive boyfriend. It was a weekend of full on drama, culminating with his coming by her place and pounding on the locked door for 45 minutes. At one point when we were returning to my friend's place (we took the elevator to a story below, walked up one flight, and stuck our heads around the corner to see if it was safe) my friend commented that it was like a TV movie. I quipped, "And do you know who gets killed in TV movies? The smart-assed, mouthy best friend with the big boobs, that's who."

I still stand by that casting choice.

I'd be the nerdy kid who lusts after the most popular girl in school and when he finally gets her, realizes that he's really in love with his steadfast but frumpy female friend. [Who is really hot behind the glasses and bad hair.]

I'm the frumpy female friend with the glasses and greasy hair.

Some time back I realized I'd never be Marlene Dietrich. I accepted this around the same time that I realized that the librarian actually gets a lot of action (unlike in the movies).

Ho, Glinda!! Someone else (wish I could remember) once said I was Galdrial from LOTR... I love these nice-witchy roles I'm being cast for - not really controlling fates, but helping out the protagonists with little magical nudges, and overseeing things. If it's Arthurian, then I'll be the Lady of the Lake. If mythological... Well, Athena.
