ReggaeFilter! I can't stop listening to Dr. Alimantado's "Johnny Was a Baker". Can someone who understands Jamaican help me figure out the words? [More:]

1. I'm curious what they say before the music starts.

2. Why is his daughter named Brown Paper?

2. I can't figure out part of the song. Starting around 1:50:
And when they take him from the place called Africa
And carry(?) him to the place that ??made ex-maker??
He said Jah Jah Jah Ja-Jamaica
But they never know know that he was no baker
Just ??? said Jah Jah Jah are the maker
I heard that Johnny was a baker
I heard he used to live in Jamaica
I hear he has three daughters, one named Brown Paper
But that is all I know about you, Johnny Baker
I go to London Town
I go to New York City
I go to Africa
Just to find Johnny

When I got to Africa
Someone said "Look, this is Johnny"
I said "Good day Johnny, my name is Dr Alimantado"

That's all I got.

He said Jah, Jah, Jah is the Maker

(Jah is what Rastafaraians call God - short, I think, for Jahweh).

Thanks ej and Specklet... The main part I was having trouble understanding was the part about "ex-maker", or whatever. I guess you guys didn't understand that part either. Crazy Rastafarians!
