02 July 2006

Just got back ... [More:]... from a weekend at my sister's, in Derby (about 130 miles from here). It was her 50th birthday, so there was a bit of a party, which was fun, nice restaurant, good music to dance to (70s and 80s old school).

She got a computer for her birthday, so I did some tweaking for her, set up her email and downloaded the screensaver of her choice (Spongebob Squarepants). It was very hard going at times - her knowledge of computers is so rudimentary that when I referred to the desktop she said "But it's not on a desk, it's on the dining table." By way of revenge I introduced her to tubgirl and goatse

Then my car decided to act all wappy on me, and the central locking wouldn't work so there was a danger I might be trapped in the car. Eventually my bro-in-law managed to open it. I've had to leave it unlocked in the garage until I can get it seen to.

The journey home took 6 hours, due to several accidents which closed the motorway, so I had to add another 80 miles on my journey by coming off the motorway and driving through Beds, Herts and Essex to get home. I've called in the office to tell them I'll take tomorrow out of my annual leave, I'm both shattered and wired.

So how's your weekend going?
Oh, and there was a little dead bird in the bedroom when I got home, and neither cat has her collar on.

I'm badly sunburnt. Thankfully nowhere sensitive, except my calves, so walking is a delicate affair, but beer and white russians have minimized the pain.

Oy, quite a weekend, EJ. Had to laugh about the cats.

Mine's alright. Kyleg came for a whirlwind visit. Just got a set of Bean bag games for the back yard, and even though it's hot and muggy, have been playing it with Kyleg and my brother. Tomorrow, going to get my car looked at. No a/c!

I'm laughing about the cats, too!

Because of the Fourth of July holiday I feel like I have a four-day weekend that I have to work through. I'm working right now and tomorrow, and most people I know got off Friday and won't work again until Wednesday.

I just watched this movie about a week ago, so I'm sorry if I laughed at your travel travails at first... but I did. :D That said- I DESPISE sitting on the highway in traffic, so I'm really sorry to hear about your travel pains.

I envy you, ah the opportunity of popping someone's goatse and tubgirl cherries!
