Quick! Advice! My neighbor's dog just came over. Should I wake up my neighbor or just keep her overnight? [More:]I'd ask on IRC but I seem to be banned, alas. So I'm getting ready to go to bed and my dog Theo starts freaking out - because my neighbor's dog, the beauteous Jazz, Theo's best friend since puppyhood, is scratching on my front door. I let her in - it's not the first time she has visited, although it's the first time she's ever come to the front door, which is outside the purview of mine & my neighbors fenced back yards - and here she is, being adorable. My neighbor's lights are all out. Should I a) go over there with Jazz, knock on the door, wake her up with the news that Jazz has a new escape route or b) keep Jazz overnight and take her home in the morning?
I'd probably keep her and put a note on my own door in case the neighbors come knocking really early. Unless she's annoying. Then I'd drop her off.

mgl, you're not banned. You just need to open your client, change your preferences so that youe intro message is no longer "New Now KNow How," and you're golden. See previous threads. We miss you, so please!

And yeah, Jazz probably wandered off tonight and then got scared, and then couldn't wake the family, but knew you were safe people. Let 'er stay.

Were there lots of people setting off fireworks there tonight?

When I took Lulu on a walk earlier we saw four loose dogs (first time I've seen any loose dogs since I got Lulu a month ago) - I'm assuming most of them hightailed it out of their yards because of all the firework commotion. They were all scared and all of them had tags. I couldn't get a damn one of them to come to me, though.

Put a note on your door. You might also consider slipping a note under the neighbor's door...or on her windshield or just wherever you think it'd actually be seen.

MGL, regarding the "ban":

In Firefox, go to Tools > Chatzilla. This will open Chatzilla without your being bounced by Slashnet.

In Chatzilla, go to Tools > Options. In the options window, click on Global Settings on the left-hand menu. Select the General tab. Under Identification, change the Description field from "New Now Know How" to some other text.

You should now be able to connect.

Yes, it's a stupid problem, but it's Slashnet's problem. Buncha other people had to deal with it in the past week too.

I know, hon, I just don't have the energy to fix it right now. I saw the threads, but I'm so rarely online lately I haven't tried IRC in a while and tonight I'm too tired to do anything besides click and stare. I'll be back eventually though. And as to the dog, thanks, y'all are echoing what I was thinking. There's a note on my neighbor's car and Jazz is happily settled at my feet with a milkbone. Fireworks, yes, everywhere around tonight and that must be what made her get out of the fence - fbk has it, the last time she came over was a thunderstorm. She's a sweetheart so it's no problem.

I don't think any of you really understand what I'm trying to say here || I went in to the club with the intention of kissing a guy, and I did.
