Find a U-Pick Fruit/Veggie Farm! There may be one near you!→[More:] I didn't think there were any near me, but there's actually one very close, that has all kinds of u-pick fruits and veggies! I can't wait to go this weekend. Let's make pies!
I used to go to Sewell's Orchards in Maryland when I was a wee lad. I remember picking strawberries and eating them dirty and warm from the sun, feeling like a fly slurping sticky juice off my own skin, giggling uncontrollably when my dad told me I'd ruin my appetite. "But dad! It's fruit!"
Now it's a subdivision. They have a pool with a jacuzzi and tennis courts.
I used to go berry picking with my grandpa when I visited them in Indiana. Some of my fondest memories. The berry farm is still there -- saw it at Thanksgiving.
I wanted to start a 10$(small)/20$(large) per bunch you pick it wild flower farm on my parent's property in N.E. Pennsylvania before I moved to California instead.
I went to a pick-your-own strawberry farm once. Pick one, eat one, pick one, eat two. I never wanted to see another fricking strawberry again after that.
Freudian -- No, it's not free. The prices they charge depend on the farm. Some may just have a "per pound" fee where they charge you based on how much you pick, and some farms may even have a small cover charge in addition to that. You'd just have to call the farm and see what their prices are. Good luck!
