Ask MeCha: What the heck is up with the RSS feeds 'round here?→[More:] Items are constantly seen as "new" by my feedreader, without actually being updated, or renewed, or anything. I'm using the RSS2 feed, and I know that the problem used to/probably still does happen with the Atom feed. Feed Validator doesn't see any glaring problem.

the mefi feed here is down too...i think they're glitchy, or if a server gets rebooted or something they mess up or something.

This is something that's always happened though. I think it may have something to do with the fact that the feed contains the 100 most recent posts. I'd grab a copy of them every 30 minutes and start doing diffs, but that'd be... work.
