I have an NEC LT260 which is a great projector and a few years old, the equivaltent new model looks to be the LT280. Its 2500 lumens, which you can see pretty well in a not dark room. There's really only so much you can expect, projectors require darkenss for blacks to look black. No amount lumens can overcome broad daylight streaming in through the window. I have used it to project an image about 7 feet wide and it was as bright as any movie theater I've been in. The screen geometry set up works well. It's worked flawlesly for 3 years or so. I use mine to watch movies and occasional xbox.
